My mission:

Financial Planning for everyone who needs it

(no matter what income they make)

I believe in the power of face-to-face financial help… not just for those with a lot of money, but for everyone.

From the day I started R2R I struggled with trying to make a stable business while still helping people who couldn’t afford the prices which that business would demand. Out of that struggle has come this ‘grand’ experiment…. what I like to think of as the ‘Tom’s shoes of financial planning’.

Whenever you spend a dollar at R2R, whether that’s for an $8 workbook or $2,000 of financial planning… 10% of that goes into a fund which I use to help provide one-on-one help to people who can’t afford it.

It’s that simple.

How does it work?

That fund goes to support two main projects: office hours and pay-what-you-can financial planning

OFFICE HOURS

They’ve been around for more than a year now.

They are free 30 minute skype sessions that are available to absolutely everyone.

They’ve been a huge success, and many people have used them for regular accountability that they could not otherwise easily afford.

PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN FINANCIAL PLANNING

A new project that allows people under a certain income threshhold to apply for partial or full subsidy to the cost of working with a financial planner.

It’s only available for those who make under $30,000 a year as individuals or $45,000 as a family. I work with them to establish an amount they can afford to pay, and the rest is subsidized from the above fund. There is already a waiting list for this work, and funds must be in place before work starts.
